Ingredients
For Podi
- Coriander Seeds 3 tsp
- Bengal Gram 2 tsp
- Black Gram 2 tsp
- Jeera 1 tsp
- Masala Mogga 5-6 (Small Size)
- Cinnamon Stick 1/2 inch
- Cloves 5-6
- Dry Coconut 1 tbsp
- Red Chillies 10
For Rice
- Rice 1 cup
- Brinjal 5-6
- Potato 1
- Curry leaves
- Lemon or tamarind paste 1 tsp
- Mustard Seeds 1/2 tsp
- Bengal gram 1 tsp
- Urad dal 1tsp
- Jeera 1/2 tsp
- Hing
- red chilly 1
Procedure
For Podi
- Dry Roast all the ingredients except coconut, let them cool
- Blend them to smooth powder
For Rice
- Wash and Soak rice for 30 mins and cook for 3 whistles.Let it Cool completely
- Cut potato and Brinjal into long pieces and put them in water(They wont turn black in color)
- Now heat oil in a Pan , add mustard seeds,jeera.when they start splutter add Bengal gram and urad dal fry till they are golden brown
- Now add curry leaves,hing and red chili
- Add Potato ,cook for few minutes .Now add brinjal .Cook them till they are soft
- Add Vangi Bath Powder .Mix well and Switch off the flame
- Add this to Cooked rice ,Mix well.Squeeze lemon or add tamarind paste ,mix well
- Serve Vangibath
