Borugula Tiruvatha or Ugani (Murmura or Puffed rice upma)
Ingredients
- Puffed rice or Borugulu or murmura 3 cups
- Onions 2
- Tomato 1(optional)
- Curry leaves
- Mustard seeds
- Bengal Gram and urad dal(Split) 1 tsp
- Fresh Coriander
- Turmeric
- Salt
- Lemon
- Green Chilli Paste
Procedure
- First soak puffed rice in water and once it becomes soft take small quantity , squeeze of the water, keep it a side.Repeat the process
- In a Kadai , add oil .Once hot , add mustard seeds, Bengal gram,urad dal fry for 2 mins .Add curry leaves ,and chopped onion.mix well
- Cook till onions are transparent
- Now add Turmeric , Green chilli paste and cook for 2 mins
- Add soaked Puffed rice , mix well.Cook for 5 mins , Give a stir in between intervals
- Add fresh coriander and switch off the flame
- Squeeze Lemon
- Serve hot with any podi or pickle
- Mirchi Bajji goes well with this
