Jeera Rasam (Jeelakara charu)

Authentic recipe of  my ammama.
Jeera Rasam


Ingredients:
1.Toor Dal - Half cup (Soak for 10 mins)
2. Garlic cloves - 10
3. Coriander leaves
4. Tamarind - Lemon sized ball (Soak in water)
5. Tomato - 1 Small
6. Salt
7. Jaggery - little bit
8. Jeera - 1 tbsp
9. Rasam Powder - 1 Tbsp

For Seasoning :
1. Mustard seeds
2. Jeera
3. Oil
4. Asafetida
5. Curry leaves
6. Dry Red chilly

Procedure :
1. In a Pressure cooker add Toor dal , Jeera and water ,cook for 2 whistles
2. In a Kadai heat oil ,add Mustard , Jeera ,Asafetida,Dry Red Chillies , Garlic Pods and fry      for few mins
2. Once Toor Dal is cooked , add Sliced Tomato ,Tamarind pulp, Jaggery, Salt, Coriander           Leaves , Curry leaves , Rasam powder ,add prepared seasoning and cook for 10 mins.
3. Jeera rasam is gud with white rice
