Menthula Pappu (Fenugreek Seeds Dal)
Ingredients
- Toor Dal - 1 cup
- Jaggery - little bit
- Tamarind pulp
- Salt
- Red chillies -10
- Methulu or FenuGreek Seeds - 1 tbsp
- Curry leaves
- Hing
- Garlic cloves - 4
Procedure
- In a kadai add oil ,heat it
- Once oil is hot , add mustard and jeera seeds , let them splutter
- now add Methi seeds ,Dry red chillies (Cut them into small pieces),Curry leaves, Garlic and hing.Let it fry for 2 mins
- In a Pressure cooker , add soaked Toor dal , water,Chopped onions and above seasoning .
- Cook till 3 whistles
- Once cool down , Add tamarind pulp, jaggery and salt , cook fro 5 mins
- Serve with rice or Vadappa
