Mysore Rasam

Ingredients

For Powder

  • Red chillies 
  • Coriander seed - 4 tbsp
  • Jeera - 2 tbsp
  • Miriyalu - 1 tbsp
  • Menthulu - 1/2 tbsp
  • Dry coconut

For Rasam

  • Toor dal -1/4 cup
  • Tamarind pulp - 1 tsp
  • Lemon juice
  • Salt
  • Turmeric
  • Curry leaves
  • Coriander leaves
  • Rasam powder

For seasoning

  • Mustard seeds
  • Jeera
  • Dry red chilli -1
  • Curry leaves
  • Hing

Procedure 

For Rasam Powder

  1. Dry roast all the ingredients except coconut.
  2. Let it cool,Grind them to smooth powder , store it in Air tight Container

For Mysore Rasam

  1. Cook toor dal.
  2. in a Pan add toor dal,turmeric ,curry leaves, coriander leaves,Salt,Tamarind pulp,Rasam Powder 1 tbsp ,water 2 cups and bring it to boil for 10 mins.
  3. Once Boiled add lemon juice and switch off
  4. Add seasoning , Mysore rasam is ready to serve with rice.
