Gongura Chutney


Ingredients

  • Gongura 2 cups
  • Green chillies 8 or as per taste
  • Garlic pods 7
  • Onion 1 
  • Coriander seeds 1 tsp
  • Curry leaves
  • Mustard seeds 1 tsp
  • Bengal gram 1 tsp
  • Urad dal 1 tsp
  • Dry red chilly 1
  • Oil
  • Jeera 1/2 tsp
  • Turmeric
  • Hing

Procedure

  1. Wash gongura 2-3 times.And keep a side
  2. In a Kadai heat 1 tsp of oil , add green chilies and cook  and take out in a bowl.
  3. Now in same kadai ,add gongura,turmeric and cook till the leaves are soften.
  4. Add cooked green chillies ,garlic pods in a blender and grind them to smooth paste.Add gongura leaves and grind to coarse
  5. Heat 1 tbsp of oil in a kadai,add mustard seeds,jeera and let them splutter.Add Bengal gram, urad dal and coriander seeds cook till they turn into golden color.Now add curry leaves,red chilly,Hing ,mix well.Add chopped onions ,cook till they are soft.
  6. Now add Gongura paste,cook for 3-4 mins. Switch off the flame
  7. Serve with hot rice
