Idli with Idli rice


Ingredients

  • Idli rice 3 cups
  • Urad dal  1 1/4 cups
  • Atukulu or Poha thick 1/2 cup
  • Menthulu or Methi seeds 1 tsp

Procedure

  1. Wash and Soak rice for 5 hours , add methi seeds also while soaking the rice
  2. Wash and soak urad dal separately for 4-5 hrs
  3. Wash and soak Poha separately for 1 hr
  4. After 5 hours , remove water from rice and add it into grinder , grind it like rava and remove in vessel
  5. Grind Urad dal to smooth batter , add it to rice batter
  6. Now grind poha to smooth batter , add this to rice and urad dal batter.Mix well
  7. Ferment for 8 hours or over night
  8. Add salt and baking powder ,mix well.
  9. Take Idli plate ,grease some ghee or oil add a ladle full of batter.Steam for 10-12 mins
  10. Serve hot Idli's with any chutney and sambar
