Ingredients
- Idli rice 3 cups
- Urad dal 1 1/4 cups
- Atukulu or Poha thick 1/2 cup
- Menthulu or Methi seeds 1 tsp
Procedure
- Wash and Soak rice for 5 hours , add methi seeds also while soaking the rice
- Wash and soak urad dal separately for 4-5 hrs
- Wash and soak Poha separately for 1 hr
- After 5 hours , remove water from rice and add it into grinder , grind it like rava and remove in vessel
- Grind Urad dal to smooth batter , add it to rice batter
- Now grind poha to smooth batter , add this to rice and urad dal batter.Mix well
- Ferment for 8 hours or over night
- Add salt and baking powder ,mix well.
- Take Idli plate ,grease some ghee or oil add a ladle full of batter.Steam for 10-12 mins
- Serve hot Idli's with any chutney and sambar
