Potato Kurma


Ingredients

  • Potatoes 3
  • Nuvulu or sesame seeds 3 spoons
  • Cardamom 2
  • Cinnamon 1 inch
  • Cloves 3
  • Red chillies 3
  • Ginger garlic paste 1 tsp 
  • Bay leaf 1
  • Dry coconut 1 tbsp
  • Onion 1
  • Coriander leaves 
  • Salt
  • Red chilly powder 1 tsp
  • Turmeric 1/2 tsp
  • Curd 1 cup
  • Tomato large 1

Procedure

  • Boil potatoes in pressure cooker and chop them into cubes, keep a side.chop onions into thin slices
  • Dry roast Sesame seeds,Clove,Cinnamon,Cardamom,Dry coconut and red chillies. Let it cool
  • Blend them to smooth powder.Add 1 chopped tomato and grind it to smooth paste
  • Heat 1 1/2 tbsp of oil in a kadai,add bay leaf and sliced onions.Cook till onions are brown in color.Add ginger garlic paste,turmeric ,saute for few mins
  • Now add masala paste prepared in step 3.Cook till oil releases
  • Add red chilli powder ,salt .Saute for a min
  • Now add Curd and cook well.Add potato cubes , cook for 5-6 mins on medium flame
  • Garnish with coriander.
  • Serve with ghee rice or any veg pulao
